Tobias Tymosch
Design engineer for power electronics and control technology
My job: Designing innovative electric systems
Mobility is a huge part of our society, and it offers loads of potential for technological growth and development. Especially the increasing use of electricity allows for newer, faster, more comfortable, more cost efficient, and - above all - greener forms of mobility. At thyssenkrupp Transrapid, we are pioneers of high speed mobility, which we keep on developing further and further. However, we also focus strongly on other fields, such as vertical mobility enabled by elevator technology, or maritime mobility.
As a design engineer for power electronics and control technology, I get to work in these highly diversified business segments. My tasks include the definition of requirements for innovative mechatronic systems, their initial design, test, and qualification, as well as their installation and commissioning - all in close collaboration with our suppliers and customers and by using the latest drive and automation technology.
My everyday life: Combining theory and pratice
As I am involved in many different projects in a large variety of industries and fields of application, my everyday life is wonderfully versatile. I use different tools for requirements management, simulation, programming, layout, construction, documentation, and communication, when I work at my desk. When doing pratical work in our electrical laboratory, I always appreciate the extensive range of tools and equipment for measuring technology the lab features. For me, that combination of theoretical considerations and subsequent practical implementation is what makes my working days so interesting.
My challenge: Getting creative in order to find great solutions
My tasks also include ensuring conformity with prescribed standard requirements and the integration of functional security. This can sometimes make the practical and technical realization even more challenging - but at the same time, it offers great technological insights and a continuous improvement of specialised knowledge.
engineering. tomorrow. together ist unser Slogan. For me, that means...
Personally, I find that this slogan does not only represent what I do, but also what I stand for. I want my work to have a valuable impact on society and to pave the way for a livable future. Being able to do this, while working together with motivated, supportive, and lovely colleagues, brings me a lot of joy.
