System development

We develop highly available, complex mechatronic systems. This development can either include all project phases, or just one or two of them, depending on our customers' needs:

  • Concept study / concept definition

  • Detailed development

  • Validation of development samples or prototypes

  • Final qualification

  • Start of series production

Electronics

Energy conversion, signal processing, or sensor technology – electronics play a massive role for any of these topics.

We design signal and power electronic circuits, create functional models and/or prototypes, and conduct appropriate performance tests. When doing so, we take into account:

  • Functional requirements

  • Legal and normative requirements

  • Redundancy, availability, and functional safety

  • Market availability and possible obsolescence of components

  • Financial constraints

Embedded systems

Intelligence in electronic systems is implemented by microprocessors – the resulting system being called an embedded systems. Diverse peripheral conditions require a customized solution, both in hardware and in software, which we develop for our clients – tailored to the requirements of the respective system. Thereby we use among others:

  • Microcontrollers and FPGA of different platforms

  • Programming of device drivers and applications

  • Industrial field buses for real-time communication

  • Implementation and testing of complex control algorithms (HIL).

System analysis

System analysis by means of simulation and modelling enables a preliminary analysis and evaluation of the behavior of a complex system. As our customer, you benefit from:

  • Identification of difficulties before hardware implementation

  • Minimization of the design risk

  • Analysis of the system behavior based on the simulation results

Secure battery management system

With a technical study we support the customer in the development of a new generation of their battery management system. Special attention is paid to the aspects safety/security and reliability of the alternative solution.

Energy supply and propulsion for innovative elevators

We support our customer's development of a highly innovative passenger elevator system, focussing our activities on the energy supply and the propulsion system for the elevator. We also develop a sensor which determines the precise positioning of the elevator cars in the shaft.

Electrical drive technology

We advise customers on the development of motors and power electronics – in this specific project, we support the design of the electronics assembly, we identify room for improvement regarding the interaction of the electronics, the control, and the electric motor, and we prepare a specification sheet for possible future suppliers of the motor.

Autonomous submarine

Carrying out a systematic hazard and risk analysis for an underwater vehicle being developed by our customer, we assessed that the intended design and dimensions of said vehicle would not pose any danger to either people or the environment.
